A lot of injuries happen to anyone especially those who often engage in physical activities mainly because of stiff muscles. When your body lacks flexibility, your movements are restricted and your muscles easily would feel pain when push to the limits. Good thing is that you could work to improve your flexibility. There are certain activities or exercises that you can perform to do so. You actually don’t have to go to the gym to do this since it could be done at home and would take only a spare of your time. There is no need for you to change your schedule since these exercises to improve your flexibility could be done anytime of the day. For your own safety be sure that you do your exercise several hours after your meal. Some of the exercises that you can do are forward bending, sideways bending, hamstring stretch, calf stretch and quadriceps stretch. Be sure that you do all of these exercises in a regular basis.
Though you are very much excited to do the exercises mentioned above, be sure not to rush. When you do those exercises with cold muscles, you might end up with injuries. Heat yourself up first by doing cardiovascular exercises like jogging and brisk walking. Do not tire yourself too much if you are just starting. Gradually increase the frequency of your exercise as your body gets used to it. To prevent dehydration, it is best that you drink enough volume of water prior to starting your exercise routine. And most importantly, keep in mind that you have limits, do not anymore stretch your body when you feel pain. Your flexibility exercise should be accompanied by appropriate diet. There are foods that could improve your agility and flexibility. Green vegetables like artichokes, asparagus and broccoli would be great. With the right diet and proper exercise, you are on your way to improve your flexibility.
